We Can Arrange and Advise on Framing

Choosing Frames and What to Look For
|
Like Hanging Art, Framing is also about aesthetics and care! It's usual for us to focus on selecting the right frame to suit the artwork and our decor but the right frame will also protect your investment and look great for a very long time.
|
Frame vs No Frame?
|
Many oils are sold and hung unframed. Its a matter of choice depending on the picture, the place of hanging and the completeness of the finish on the sides of the painting. Glass is not placed on works created on canvas.
The quality of the canvas is very important because to achieve proper fit on the frame it is stretched and a poor quality canvas will weaken over time with changes in temperature, humidity and air pollution.
For protection, works created on paper are always framed and are covered with either glass or polycarbonate. Polycarbonate with UV will also protect works from light damage [and are easier to transport than glass].
The mount, the cardboard or similar edging between the frame and artwork, fulfills two roles, one aesthetic and in the case of paper works it is protective, as it sits between the work and the frame.

Choosing a Framer
|
The framer plays a very important role in achieving satisfaction with your purchase. Warrandyte Artists' framer is an affordable but very experienced and reliable craftsman.
The framer will guide the selection of mounts for size and colour, along with the frame selection.
The framer has other aids at his disposal to help protect your works, such as acid free tapes, mounts and backing materials.
All framed works are properly notated by sticker on the back of the work, for your reference, over time.Expression of Interest in Framing |
