About Us - Warrandyte Artists

Sponsor's Message

Warrandyte Community Bank Branch proudly supports the Warrandyte & surrounding Communities. This Gallery is just one of 40 local organisations that the bank has supported during it's 4 short years in Warrandyte.

By banking locally and encouraging others to do so too, you can also support your community.

The act of bringing collectors and artists together is an exciting and worthwhile endeavour.

Warrandyte Artists on-line fine art gallery is borne out of a need to build upon the existing local arts network to make local art more accessible to collectors and other interested groups.

It is also designed to assist artists with a 'home base' for the permanent display of much of their work, on-line. To this point there was no existing gallery, either on-line or actual, focusing principally on the creative outputs of this important artistic environment.

Mission
My 'Mission' is to present a vibrant and rich cache of local art, current and past, in the most informative and easy-to-use gallery format for the pleasure of viewing and the opportunity to acquire current works.

It is an objective that this showcase of both established and emerging artists capture what is a creative expression of the Warrandyte environment.

This art gallery was launched early October 2007. Initially it contains the works of five very special artists who have taken their inspiration from Warrandyte and the environment of the Yarra River running through this town. It was important to present a strong and varied mix of artistic styles - you will see here traditional and the modern, from oils, to digital and from canvas to ceramics!

Warrandyte Artists chose the distinctive blue-green foliage of the Red Box gum to represent our image. It is the most common eucalypt in the Warrandyte district and for artists and all lovers of the bush, it is symbolic of nature in this small corner of the world. The distinctive blue-green leaf colour, the round shape and its ability to withstand the ravages of nature and man make it outstanding.

Thanks to Rankin Design for the website design and the Warrandyte Community Bank Branch for a contribution towards funding the website's development by Komodocms.
